Whether a regular relaxing, therapeutic massage or a "get loose and ready to play golf" massage or a highly specifized muscle group massage or a Somatoemotional release session, Rachel at Indyroots uses the following lenses to guide her work:

Trauma-Informed - Shifting the approach from “what’s wrong with me” to “what has impacted me”, we all metabolize traumas differently and are inherently bent towards wholeness.

Inclusive - Your body in all of its facets is wonderful. Inclusive bodywork creates a safe space for all cultural and gender identities.

Neurodivergence Aware- Embracing that brains are wired differently! Keeping in consideration transition times, explanation and instruction styles, sensory impact, and interpersonal communication.

Sensory Integrated- Paying attention to the body’s feedback about touch, sound, interoception, propiroception. Scaffolding the ability to develop preference and expand exposure to sensations.

Somatic Aware- Listening to the body’s communication and pace setting for touch and relationship. When the brain says “yes” and the body says “no”, we honor the body. In time this creates a stronger connection to self.
